   Cymry DeBoucher earned a BFA in Art Education K-12 and a M.A. in Special Education with Gifted Education Focus K-12 from the University of Arizona.
 
    Ms. DeBoucher has more than 30 years of teaching experience and is a passionate, dedicated, and successful teacher. She currently teaches art and film as part of Canyon del Oro (CDO) High School’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. Ms. DeBoucher is a Gifted Specialist and also serves as the REACH Coordinator at CDO. In this role, she provides enrichment programming and support to the gifted population through mentoring, seminars, and workshops. Ms. DeBoucher was also responsible for developing the Amphitheater Honors Internship Program and Curriculum which is now the model used throughout the Amphitheater school district. She continues to coordinate this program at CDO which allows students to gain real world work experiences while still in high school.
 
    Ms. DeBoucher is an advocate for gifted students and provides information and guidance to parents about giftedness and how parents can support their children’s needs both at school and at home. She is a well-regarded presenter at the state level for the Arizona Association for the Gifted and Talented and her expertise regarding the gifted brain, gifted intensity, and gifted underachievement as well as differentiation of instruction and effective assessment all contribute to the greater knowledge base for educators and parents in our state. Ms. DeBoucher has also worked tirelessly to nurture the Odyssey of the Mind program across the district, which she introduced in her first year of service. Since then, she has organized 31 regional tournaments and 22 state tournaments and has grown the program from four teams to many teams at almost all 20 Amphitheater schools.
